Kirby Cafe! Tokyo, Japan

Want to know how we made our reservations?

Immediately after landing, we went right over to the Kirby Cafe. Located at the Tokyo Sky Tree, there was defintitely plenty to see and do before and after Kirby Cafe!

NOTE: The front door of the cafe is on the 4th floor and if OUTDOORS, with the entrance literally next to the Sky Tree Tower. The back side leads to the mall.

Kirby Cafe

When you get to the Kirby Cafe, there are seats outside of the restaurant where you wait for the host to greet you before your time slot. Everyone gets a limited amount of time there based on the reserved time slot you booked so DON'T BE LATE.

The host starts off introducing the menu and any seasonal/special items they are offering. They will also explain how you are able to order special items exclusive to your visit. These items include cups, plates, coasters, etc. (All of this is introduced in Japanese BUT they will also have an English script they will show you at the end)

As you enter the cafe, the host will bring you in one party at a time, they will help you take a picture at the Kirby Mural at the entrance. There will be baskets on the left of the door for you to temporarily place your belonging (so that you aren't holding bags in your pictures)

Once you have been seated, once again, you'll put your belongings in your own basket and it's finally time to look through the menu and order! The servers will walk around with mobile devices and take your order. They will also repeat each item with you before they finalize your order.

As most Japanese restaurants do, when you finish your meal and collect your belongings, you can head to the back of the restaurant and pay for your meal at the Kirby Cafe Store. Before paying, you can also do a bit of shopping and take home more Kirby swag!

Once again, TIPPING is not required!

The Kirby Cafe is located in the mall under the Tokyo Skytree Tower. There is a whole mall to explore, with anything from anime/cartoon goods, to clothes, snacks and souvenirs!

Reservations

After much researching on Reddit and Youtube University, these are the steps that worked for us:

1. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Reservations go live on the 10th of every month (ex. If you want to go on February 3, the restaurant puts out their availabilities on January 10)

2. ALARM: Set your alarm for 5:55pm JST as they go live at 6pm JST

3. Think fast and book!
