Tradesman Coffee Shop & Lounge - Boston, MA

Updated: Jan 10

I know we all have our favorite coffee shops but hear me out!

Background:
I wouldn't call myself a religious coffee shop girl but I KNOW a good spot when I come by one! I recently got invited to Tradesman Coffee Shop and Lounge to create some content for them, and I'm so glad that I went. It's been a week and I still think about that latte I had.

Everyone is constantly posting about these stuffed croissants that look insanely flakey, not to mention the wild flavors as well. This was the perfect excuse for me to FINALLY go somewhere for breakfast and I'm happy I did it. (I don't have a normal weekend schedule, story for another day)

Location:
Tradesman is located in the Financial District of Boston, right next to the Downtown area. As we walked over, there was scaffolding, caution tape, orange cones, etc in front of the main entrance. We wandered through the hotel in the back and we found an entrance to Tradesman!

Experience:
Once we got in there, we saw a loooong line of people but that line moved QUICK. While waiting in line, you can see how quickly the staff is working. Food is leaving the cases within minutes of refilling, coffee is being sent out every minute, and racks of croissants are quickly emptying.

Manny (the manager) was a super chill guy. We let him pick our breakfast and this guy DELIVERED. He brought over:
  • Banana Foster Croissant

  • Smoked Ham & Cheese Sandwich

  • Madagascar Vanilla Latte (Hot)

  • Madagascar Vanilla Latte (Iced)

I whipped out my camera and light (my "ipad") IMMEDIATELY and snapped away. Manny also let me shoot some videos of himself and a fellow barista making lattes. I am truly impressed by how quick theyre whipping up these lattes and every single order I saw had some latte art. The employees here are literal MVPs.

While the pastry chef brought out a tray of FRESH croissants, she stopped by and offered me a chance to take some pics/videos. I am very thankful that she made the time for us and I got to learn more about her and the magic behind the scenes!

Most patrons are already curious when we pull out a camera but once the light turns on, I'm VERY entertained by the reactions I get. Many of the patrons at Tradesmen were very friendly and started some fun conversations with us, another reason why I like doing what I do.

Food:
20-30 minutes later we FINALLY get to eat. Once again, patrons next to us are just waiting for us to eat and yes, they cheered after our first bite LOL I love it!
  • Banana Foster Croissant - The croissant was as flakey as it looks! Just buttery enough where you can taste it but not too much where you think its oily/dense. The filling was nice and light, it went so well with the pastry itself. 10/10 would love another one :)

  • Smoked Ham & Cheese Sandwich - I was very amazed at how soft the pretzel buns were. I was honestly expecting to bite into a hard/dry pretzel but NOPE, it was sooooo soft!!!! Personally, I love dijon mustard and loved that there was some in there along, definitely adds to each bite of the sandwish. This is definitely an elevated breakfast sammich in my books.

  • Madagascar Vanilla Latte - The latte was sooooo goood, hot and cold. The reason why I am obsessed with this latte is that it had such a strong and clean nutty flavor, just the way I love my coffee. Watching them make the latte makes me appreciate it even more!

If' you're every in the area, highly recommend stopping by, even if their croissants are sold out, the coffee here is too good to pass up. I'm hooked and mentally planning another trip back :)
